![]() I hope they change these buildings in the future again. ![]() 2.0 made the game better in a lot of ways, but the building system is a major step down from what we had before.Ĭlick to expand.Agree with your op and this statement! These buildings are still most of the times not worth their money. There was tons of strategy involved in choosing the buildings, and it actually felt like you were building something special rather than the current system where you just spam the same thing over and over. In any case, I want my old megacities back. I guess foundries might also be worth it if you're doing the exploit for infinite military XP? My campaigns have thus far consisted of spamming the same copy+paste cities that are just glorified brainwashing machines. The only buildings worthwhile are Grand Theaters and maybe Great Temples. For all I know, manpower buildings might be entirely useless with manpower numbers so low that any effect gets rounded away to 0. Tax buildings in average cities take a millennium to pay for themselves in a game that only lasts 276 years. Building 3 academies for 450 gold as a baseline might get you 1 extra noble in most cities. The vast majority of buildings are not worthwhile. The new building system is a major step down from old megacities if you're a player who likes their games to be about strategy and decision-making rather than an attempt at arbitrarily defined "realism". Maybe in a pass City, with Legions (or a culture with plenty of heavy Levies) it could work out. Except for Earthworks, they seem way too situational with the current effect, though I haven't played with it much. Their effects cap themselves.įor the top-tier buiildings (need unlocking/limited to one), they seem great, and are powerful enough to justify their limitations. I still prefer my proposal to make those buildings worthwhile - if anything the new link between Civilisation value and the Pop Output modifier makes it work better.įor the Pop Ratio/Happiness buildings, I still don't really understand why there's a cap on them. ![]() The sources of %Pop Cap increase boosts are scarce enough that getting an Aqueduct to over 150% boosted is a bad idea, as far as I can tell, so the megacity looks dead, hurray! However, as noted above it does mean that some of the repeatable buildings are just a bit rubbish, as they need a certain Population to be worth their price. So my experience kinda follows my expectations. ![]()
